“Question is , can you stop Pebblebrook from scoring? Murray, Howard, Graham, James, Harper, & Hawkins can score. Each one of them can get to 20 points in a game.”  ~Samad Hines (twitter)

Fans piled into Wheeler High School’s Wildcat Arena once again on Friday night to see the Pebblebrook Falcons take on the young men of Westlake High School. The Falcons have already met with the Lions twice this season with the first being January 12th where they came out on top with a score of 69-59. They met up again three weeks later at the Cobb Civic Center where the Falcons were victorious again with a score of 87-66.
For the Falcons this fight was no different. But with less than six minutes left in the fourth quarter of the Region 2-7A semifinal, the scene became familiar for some. Senior guard Dwight Murray was instructed to hold the ball, just like Westlake did in the final round of the 2016 State Championship. For nearly three minutes the Falcons held on finally causing a foul to be drawn on powerhouse Mervin James. With James making both free throws the Falcons went on to win the second round with a final score of 53-44.
