Yesterday, two of our very own athletes, Jayla Stallworth and Tyler Thomas were selected by the Georgia Positive Athlete Organization to speak to the Lindley 6th Grade Academy students concerning the life of a high school student-athlete. Jayla and Tyler shared details regarding the importance of academics as it relates to grade point averages, SAT/ACT scores, NCAA & GHSA eligibility, as well as the influence nutrition, and exercise have on the body. Jayla and Tyler also addressed the roles of work ethic and determination, and elaborated on how they can have a positive impact on your life on and off of the playing field. Jayla is currently a sophomore. She has participated on the varsity volleyball team and the varsity girls’ basketball team for the past two years. She proudly holds a 3.8 GPA. Tyler is a senior and has been a member of the varsity football team for the last two years.
